1. What is Airsoft?
2. Where is Airsoft Played?
3. Airsoft vs. Paintball?
So, let’s get started…
1. What is Airsoft?
Using the define function of Google we get the following definitions:
• Airsoft is an activity used primarily for recreation where replica firearms shooting 6mm or 8mm plastic rounds are used for personal collection, gaming (similar to Paintball), or professional training purposes (Military Simulations and Police training exercises). ...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airsoft
• A modern combat sport in which participants eliminate their opponents by hitting them with spherical non-metallic pellets launched from a compressed-air gun
en.wiktionary.org/wiki/airsoft
• An action combat sport similar to paintball using realistic soft pellet guns originating in Asia.
www.airsoftgunhelp.com/airsoft-glossary.htm• Is a sport that is very popular in places like Japan where it is believed that the more pain inflicted on one's self, the better you are in the eyes of the emperor? uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Airsoft
• Sport similar to paintball played with plastic pellet firing guns
www.sg1props.com/glossary/main.php• Airsoft refers to a class of replica air powered guns that originated from Japan (although the origins go back to the US in the 70s). The power levels are way below those of traditional air guns, but the guns are 1:1 scale copies of original pistols, rather than original designs.

2. Where is Airsoft played?
Airsoft is played all over the world. It started in Asia, became very popular in Europe, and is rapidly growing in the USA.
3. Airsoft vs. Paintball?
Airsoft and Paintball are similar but different. Both have their own pros and cons. In this segment we look at the basic pros of Airsoft. First, Airsoft is cheaper than paintball, in that ammo is cheaper, and batteries last longer than CO2. Add rechargeable batteries and you can see a huge price difference. Second, Airsoft is more realistic than Paintball. The majority of weapons are a 1:1 scale replica of their “real steel” counterparts. This makes it more practical for professional training. (Military/Police).
